Helena Klakočar-Vukšić (CRO)

Helena Klakočar-Vukšić (b. 1958) studied graphic art at the Art Academy in Zagreb, Croatia, and has achieved success as a comics author, poster designer, and animator. In the summer of 1991, she embarked on a sailing holiday with her family. However, their return from Greece was delayed due to the outbreak of the war in former Yugoslavia. During the winter that followed, she documented daily life and memories of her homeland through drawings and text. This material became the basis for her award-winning graphic novel, "Restless Sea 1," which has been translated into multiple languages. Before this time, she had already published shorter works in youth magazines in ex-Yugoslavia and abroad.
